Appetite on Camera: Why Food Styling Is Critical in a Commercial
Flavour does not appear on screen by itself; it is built with precision.

Food styling is a bigger job than “making food look pretty”. It is designing how a product reads as hot, fresh, textured, flowing or crisp, according to the language of the camera, the light and the movement. In a commercial the product is usually the lead. Which is why a plate that is appetising in real life does not always create the same effect in front of a lens.
Good food styling starts with choosing the ideal example of the product, preparing backups to match the rhythm of the shoot, and creating a separate moment of freshness for every setup. Micro-moments such as steam, a sauce pour, a droplet, a highlight, a cross-section or a spill become choreography alongside the script and the camera move. In slow motion or macro especially, even a small flaw looks large.
Success at a global standard is not a “perfect but fake” plate; it is creating an image consistent with the experience the brand promises. At Hibrid 360 the food stylist, art director, director of photography and post team sit at the same table — because appetite is produced not only in the kitchen but across the whole creative chain.
